RSPCA NSW at Bulldogs Fan Day - Sunday 26 July 2009

RSPCA NSW had a fantastic day at the ANZ Stadium yesterday with the NRL Bulldogs team and their legion of supporters.

After an early morning training session the Bulldogs team met with excited fans to sign autographs and chat about the season. Players Brett Kimmorley, Jarrad Hickey and Brent Crisp showed their support for the RSPCA by sitting with us at the RSPCA information tables to sign autographs and pose for photos. A big thank you to all the Bulldogs supporters who donated money to the RSPCA NSW; we appreciate all the words of support and for your continued generosity.

One of our RSPCA NSW Inspectors also came along to meet the fans and allow them the opportunity to ask questions about the RSPCA and our Inspectorate. Information about our Safe Beds for Pets program, the upcoming RSPCA Cup Cake Day on the 17 August and animals available for adoption at www.adoptapet.com.au were also available at the tables.

One of the highlights for fans and players alike was 'Sirius', a Pug X from our Sydney Yagoona shelter. Sirius had a fantastic day meeting lots of Bulldogs fans and even met his bulldog mascot 'brother' (see photo below).

Sirius is currently available for adoption at the RSPCA Sydney Yagoona shelter. Sirius is a very friendly boy of approximately 18 months to 2 years of age. He's trained to 'sit', 'lie down' and will hit the ground and roll over on command (or when he feels like it!). He would make a fantastic pet and is available by contacting the shelter on 02 9770 7555.

Watch out for the Bulldogs and RSPCA NSW this Saturday 1 August at ZOOM Carwash in Revesby. You'll be able to meet Bulldogs players and watch them give some of our shelter dogs a good wash, plus meet RSPCA staff and an RSPCA NSW Inspector.
