Snowy Update

Snowy before 3 July 2010

RSPCA Sydney (Yagoona) Veterinary Clinic reports that Snowy is currently in a stable condition and is being treated for his burns and cuts to his ears. Clinic staff are very happy to see that Snowy is starting to eat unassisted and that despite the cruel acts that have been inflicted on him, still reacts positively to human interaction. Despite being in a stable condition, Snowy's road to recovery will be long and he is under close supervision should any complications arise.

Making  a donation

We thank the public for their support of Snowy and his owners at this difficult time. RSPCA NSW has set up an online donation page for Snowy in response to requests made by members of the public. If you would like to make a donation to assist with Snowy's recovery, please visit his online donation page at:

Please note that if donations exceed the amount required to cover Snowy's veterinary costs, remaining funds will be directed to other animals currently in care at the RSPCA NSW.

Thank you.

  2. What a brave cat adorable Snowy is. My husband and I were so upset for Snowy, who is coping with such awful pain from those severe burns and cut ears, yet he is responding to human strokes which is really heart warming to see.
We would like to think that Snowy's future wellbeing will be protected from harm, and that Snowy's owners may well have to consider an outdoor cat enclosure and cat door adjoining. It would be a nice thought to think that any surplus money above the $2000 target, could go towards this. Out thoughts are also with Snowy's family who must be feeling so sad and angry.

  3. This is an appalling act that needs stern punishment. Sadly this kind of treatment (burning alive) is perfectly acceptable in Research Laboratories around the world and those animals do not have anyone to protect them or expose the "researchers" who commit terrible acts of cruelty and violence on defenceless animals. Spare a thought and a prayer for them.

  4. This is absolutely disgusting and I agree that the person/people that did this to Snowy are very sick and need help. THey need to have a psychological check up and also be jailed for minimum 5 years to stop hurting any other innocent animals or in future, humans!!! IT is just not acceptable - zero tolerance I say!! Snowy, I am praying for you and your family. Praying that you have a full recovery and suffer no more. X
