RSPCA NSW thanks Dulux

RSPCA NSW would like to sincerely thank Dulux for their support of the RSPCA and the animals in our care.

Dulux held a special fundraising promotion for the RSPCA during the course of 2009 - purchase any 10 litre or 2x4 litre cans of Wash & Wear, Weathershield or Once from Dulux and $2 will come to the RSPCA.

Dulux presented their cheque of $30, 702 in donations to RSPCA Senior Veterinarian Kate Mills who gratefully accepted the donation on behalf of the RSPCA NSW.

RSPCA NSW would like to thank Dulux for their support and to the public for contributing to the donation through their Dulux purchases.

Don't Give Stuffed Teddys and Roses this Valentine's Day

Hannah Saul, a model with Chic Management, and actor/musician Daniel Lissing
threw their support behind the RSPCA. Chelsea, Staffy x Kelpie, 9.5 years, is currently being cared for at the
RSPCA Care Centre, Civic Way, Rouse Hill Town Centre, Rouse Hill and looking for her Pawfect Match.

According to a recent survey over 50% of Australians who give gifts on Valentine's Day spend at least $150. So this year RSPCA NSW is asking people to forgo the over-priced long stemmed roses and stuffed teddy bears and help some real animals in need.

Although not everyone believes in Valentine's Day, there's no denying that a gift of $150 would mean the world of difference. So how you can your donation help? Here's a brief comparison of what a traditional Valentine's Day gift costs compared to what the same amount of money would do go the RSPCA.

Teddy bear holding a heart $30 = Puppy care and maintenance for one day.

One dozen long-stemmed roses $50 = Microchipping and worming for a kitten.

Bottle for French champagne $80 = Behaviour rehabilitation for an abused dog for one day.

Dinnerfortwo $150= 1½ weeks petrol for an RSPCA Ambulance $150.

With thousands of animals in desperate need, what better way to say “I love you” than to show you care. To donate online, please go to:

http://www.everydayhero.com.au/donation/RSPCANSW_valentines

Through our Valentine's Day donation page you will be able to make a donation in lieu of a gift to your Valentine. A Valentine's Day Certificate will be sent to your Valentine telling them about your love for them and your donation to the animals.

Find your Pawfect Match!

If you’re in a position to adopt an animal, then head to an RSPCA Shelter on the Valentine’s weekend and help the RSPCA kick start their Pawfect Match adoptathon! The RSPCA and Hill’s Pet Nutrition aim to find loving homes for 50,000 cats and dogs in 2010, starting 13‐14 February or go to www.pawfectmatch.com.au and take the adoption quiz. All animals available for adoption from the RSPCA are desexed, wormed, microchipped, health‐checked, vaccinated and behaviourally assessed.

Over the Adoptathon weekend, all RSPCA NSW Shelters and the RSPCA Care Centre at Rouse Hill will be celebrating the love with a Valentine's Day theme.

“Please come along and support the RSPCA on 13 and 14 February. If you’ve never been to a shelter before, then this is a great introduction. We look forward to seeing you there,” said Steve Coleman, CEO RSPCA NSW. There are 11 shelters throughout the State:
